New kids' clothing brand LONVIG by MINYMO - Autumn 2008 Collection In Aarhus, Denmark at Café Slabberas on 6 September 2008. Today my destination was Aarhus. At Café Slabberas, 26 Frederiksgade in Aarhus at 10 a.m. It was early in the morning. I was preparing myself for the event. My wife rushed into the gallery where I was - she had heard some "voices". Calm down, calm down - it is nothing but me practicing reading the fairy tale "Lucca and Sam in the Zoo...". After a couple of rehearsals I was confident. At Café Slabberas I was welcomed by beautiful ladies. A computer with fast internet was ready. Everything was ready. Depending on what happened, I had 3 possibilities. Reading out loud, signing the mini poster "9 Bernhards" and showing www.LONVIG-by-MINYMO.com on the internet.
I contacted the parents, wrote the name of their child down at the left and signed down to the right. This was the perfect way to enter a conversation, and when I told that the new kids' clothing brand LONVIG by MINYMO was based on my fairy tales and fairy tale character - a very positive contact was established. And I probably talked, and talked, and talked... For a start the computer was used - but it was not necessary to pass the message. I talked to a Chinese, I talked to a German, I talked to one from Greenland and one from my home city Hedensted. I talked to one from Frederikshavn and a lot from Aarhus. Among the people from Aarhus there was one from a kindergarten. I asked all of them to take a closer look at the wonderful kids' clothing in the LONVIG by MINYMO line. I asked them to go home and read out loud my fairy tales on the web site. I asked them to take a closer look at the web site with its book shop, shoe shop, poster shops, clock shop, fairy tale theatre, jigsaw puzzle games etc. For a star I talked to people entering the second floor. Later I went down into the outdoor Café Slabberas to ensure that all visitors got a poster for their children. I talked to a granddad - he was an IT nerd - I showed the fairy tale theatre to him. This granddad had 3 grand kids and there is no doubt that he soon has built fairy tale theatres for them. A young lady, she was called Karin, she owned a poster store at Sct. Clemens Torv not far away. She loved Bernhard. I have sent an e-mail to her and we will see what happens. Only one "9 Bernhards" mini poster was left at closing time. At 4 p.m. The last poster was dedicated Tristan and his parents. But they did not show up. I'll see to that Tristan gets his poster. I had talked to people since 10 a.m. - interrupted only by a wonderful brunch, which Café Slabberas served. And then an unknown number of espressos and café americanos during the day. I was tired but very happy, that my message was passed so very easily. When you do such things - and especially if you are a little aggressive - you might have a negative response from some. Not one responded negatively - everybody was happy and thanked me for doing it... Super! Sincerely, Asbjorn Lonvig And now I am very excited to hear the response from the 58 image projector show with Beatles music on church organ which started on 29 August 2008. It has been shown every night at 9 p.m. during the Aarhus Festival. The Aarhus Festival ends 7 September 2008. Click on icon to download in high resolution |

Timeless creations written on stone so long ago, singing of the past, present and future like the bright stars above. This exhibition is a tribute to the ancient Nga Kai Tuhituhi (Scribes). ‘Nga Huarahi Tawhito’ follows on from the ‘Purapura Whetu’ (Star Dust) Series - 2006, in which I painted old stories within the shapes of the Waitaha nga hoanga tuhituhi (rock drawings and paintings) of the South Island of New Zealand. Within the formats of this current body of work I pay homage to the sacred rock art from around the world: Aotearoa, Rapanui, Hawaii, Utah and other ancient lands. A number of the paintings are inspired from other forms such as manu tukutuku (kites), taha (gourds), kohei (pendants) - pekepeka, kopepe, rei miro and Sumerian sculpture. Voyages of sky, land and sea are portrayed within these most primal of windows. Te Ariki Tupoupou o nga Rangi, Te Waiariki, Te Ruapekapeka, Waitaha, ‘Anasazi’, Sumerian and other ancient cultures are honoured in these artworks. Te Manuhiri / The Shimmering Birds, dance within the paintings like stars reflected in the water. TE NGAHURU KI TE KOANGA EQUINOX TO EQUINOX 19th March – 26th September 2008 Toko Mata Gallery 82 Lichfield Street Christchurch New Zealand ph. 021 024 86 1 33 Hours: Mon – Fri 12am-5pm, www.ruapick.vc.net.nz Kia ora Tatou Exhibition information: The ‘Te Ngahuru ki Te Koanga’ exhibition pays homage to the equinoxes. Light & dark are balanced equally. The times in-between the thresholds of Ao (Light) & Po (dark), the times when two realms meet. The artworks in this exhibition honour ancient stories of lightness & darkness. A number of works display narratives of activities that occurred during seasonal equinoxes: Te Ngahuru (Autumn Equinox), the harvest and seed season. The tenth month in the Marama Taka (moon calendar) is known as Te Pu Toki o Te Tau, this is when the stars of Poutu te Rangi, the great pole that Tane used to separate his parents Ranginui & Papatuanuku, shine brightly in the heavens. Poutu Te Rangi (Altair) is the star at the top of the pole & Whanui (Vega) is at the base. This exhibition then travels the cold dark months of Te Hotoke (Winter), when nature contracts, shuts down and rests, emerging with Te Koanga (Spring Equinox). Spring bursts forth with new shoots & buds, life is renewed, Nga mara (gardens) are dug and planted when the soils are warm. Fishing grounds and the trails of land and sea are opened, new journeys begin. These taonga are inspired in story and form, from the natural world, Tuputupu Whenua (Grandmother Nature). A homage to the Nga Kai Purakau (Story Tellers) and the Nga Kai Tuhituhi (Scribes), who walk gently between Te Ao Marama (The World of Light) and Te Ao Pouri (The World of Darkness). Born in Italy, now in his mid 70’s, a philosopher, a researcher of Spinoza, and imprisoned, then lived in exile in France. In 2000, he transformed the outlook of the world by a book “Empire,” he co-authored with Michael Hardt. They definitely showed the emergence of globalization and networking, its power of transcending the obsolete units that have constituted the present world, namely the fixed notions of nation-states and territories. They also warned about its possibilities and dangers to humanity; made a break through the dogma of modern democracy, capitalism and Marxism, and enhanced the bouyant feelings, free, light and lively, for everybody to think about the meaning of his/her existence in the surrounding reality. Negri hammered out and orchestrated the tempo of life and politics for the Multitude, the countless anonymous beings—the way we think, talk and act. Mr. Negri is coming to Japan for the first time. Let’s welcome him in our own modus operandi of the Multitude. No boundaries between inside or outside of universities, and with lively wisdom and real meaning. A get together of activists, artists, consumers, thinkers, adventurers...everybody. Discuss together life and politics. Our focus will be giving rise to a common field (architecture), witnessing and imagining (film), body, memory and sympathy (performance and music), skills and creativity (art). There will also be events and exhibitions regarding medical care and arts. Thanks to Mr. Negri we have learned and will learn a lot about philosophy and ways of thinking, and we gained knowledge, humor, and courage. In return, let’s tell him what’s happening here in Japan and around-----actual and concrete activities, emerging new phenomena, and the essential sensibilities that are prevailing more rapidly and widely. Let’s tell and have a dialogue with him about them ! Not only in words, not only through arts, we shall be in direct touch with this visitor from afar. SEE HIM and FEEL HIS VIBE as a real person, as a living body, close with us. It is also a precious opportunity for us to meet up. To meet and talk with those we cannot meet otherwise. A real encounter, body and soul, not on the net nor virtual. Will it be a field where this side and the other side will be mixed without boundaries? Can we enhance and deepen our own mind and body to such a liberated level? We have a premonition that something profound will happen for us to be tuned in with the earth and humanity on quite a new level. Follow this organizer’s optimism and come together. It will happen at the same time as the nearby Ueno Park will be waving to and fro with cherry blossom parties, and just before new students join the universities. On the weekend of March 29th and 30th, we shall be looking forward to seeing you, aliens as well as friends, the Multitude. |

I am continuously trying to find new ways to communicate art. On 24 August 2007 during the ”Hedensted by Night” festival, I and organist Carsten Thomsen performed an ART EVENT. It started shortly after sunset at 9.05 p.m. and it ended with a fireworks display at 11 p.m. By means of a projector, a computer and other equipment I showed my recent art works in size 20 x 30 feet on the top of the crystal white Hedensted Church Tower. At the same time organist Carsten Thomsen played an organ concert. Beatles music of course. A brand new composition of 18 Beatles melodies was created for this purpose. This composition is conceived and performed from the point of departure which my art represents “Colorful Simplicity”. Never before has Beatles music been interpreted in this way. “Colorful Simplicity”. The Beatles' music is played very true to the Beatles' original concept of the music, but without the organist focusing on anything else but communicating the Beatles' music to the audience melodically in a seemingly effortless performance. Very close to the essential ideas of the Beatles’ music are the ideas of my art. I had the idea about this Art Event and the Parochial Church Council of Hedensted Church has supported the idea all the way through, morally and financially. The council's intention was to emphasize “the roomy church”, “the roomy Christianity”. To emphasize that the church is a cultural centre on many levels. 120 art works in 7 categories were shown in 2 sessions of 40 minutes leaving 20 seconds to show each art work on the church tower: Christ and Christianity: ”Christ”, Christ – Blue”, ”San Francesco”, ”Adam and God” inspired by Michelangelo's Creation of Adam on the ceiling of The Sistine Chapel in the Vatican in Rome, “Sagrada Familia” by Gaudi etc. New Hedensted Motifs: Interpretation of the huge metallic sculpture by the motor way (by Asbjorn Lonvig), ”The Mayor's Wife's Golf Hat”, ”The TV2 Antenna at Kragelund Common, ”The Windmill at Agersboel Manor House”, ”Agersboel Manor House”, “Hedensted Church” “The Priest's Tie”, “The Sexton's Mug”, “Postcard to Ant Oda”, US Postal Stamp with Hedensted Church, “Oester Snede Church”, “Sindbjerg Church”, “Williamsborg Manor House”, “Korning Church”, inspiration from Gl. Sole etc. Motifs from the surrounding area: Vejle, Haderslev, Aarhus etc...”Vejle Inlet Bridge”, ”Niels Kjeldsen’s Helmet”, ”The Egtved Girl's Belt”, Boerkop Water Mill”, ”Haderslev Cathedral”, ”Cafe Faust”, ”22 North Street” (Jyske Bank), ”7 North Street” (Kreditforeningen Danmark), ”Aros Aarhus Art Museum”, The City Hall Tower in Aarhus, ”Aarhus Theatre”, ”The Mansard House” in The Old Town in Aarhus, ”Marselisborg Palace”, ”Aarhus Cathedral”, ”St. Clemens Courtyard”, ”1 Cathedral Place” (Nykredit) Beautiful houses in the surrounding area: Churches, Palaces, Manor Houses....”Oerumgaard Manor House”, “Rohden Manor House”, “Ussinggaard Manor House”, “Loendal Manor House” etc. Denmark: “Christiansborg Palace”, “Erich Erichsen’s Mansion” at the Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen (Den Danske Bank), “2 Guardsmen”, “The Ugly Duckling”, Post Denmark’s “Post Box”, “Tranekaer Palace”, “Koldinghus Castle Ruin” etc. The world: ”Guggenheim?” in New York, Victorian house in San Francisco, Alcatraz in San Francisco Bay Area, Killer Wales in The Pacific Ocean, Grand Canyon seen from a helicopter, Chicago’s Gangster Past in 1920s, Canadian Maple Leaves, “Toronto Skyline”, “Thunderbird” from British Columbia, Mona from Paris, Champs Elysees in Paris, Septumus Severus Arch in Roman Forum, Rome, “Spanish Bull”, Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtnis Kirche in Berlin etc. The Mystery of The Orient: Is the theme of ”Hedensted by Night”...motifs from Fujiyama, Tokyo, The Wall of China, Shanghai, Mount Everest, Mediterranean etc. As a spectator you saw these motifs quietly slide across the church tower while the Beatles music was sent out over huge loudspeakers from Nordic Rentals A/S. Nordic Rental A/S. Nordic Rentals A/S is one of Denmark’s leading rental and production companies within the field of technology for show business. Nordic Rentals provide solutions which include budgeting, dimensioning, planning, rental, crew, transport and on site project management, while also possessing considerable experience from the planning and running of tours and other events internationally. Nordic Rentals assume responsibility for all aspects of the heavy backstage work which goes into creating the perfect concert experience. ![]() Nordic Rentals references show that Nordic Rentals A/S has the capacity and expertise needed to handle anything from the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen to major business conferences, fashion shows, theatre musicals and small scale solo performances. The Beatles. The Beatles music that was performed: 1) Yesterday 2) All My loving 3) A Hard Day's Night 4) Norwegian Wood 5) Blackbird 6) Eleanor Rigby 7) Penny Lane 8) With A Little Help from My Friends 9) Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds 10) Leaving Home 11) A Day in the Life 12) Lady Madonna 13) All You Need is Love 14) The Fool on the Hill 15) Hey Jude 16) Let it Be 17) Imagine 18) When I'm 64 + Yesterday There were two sessions with a break. I showed my fairy tale characters during the brake: Octo-Pus the Cuttlefish, Crab-Mac-Claw the Crab, Frederic The Frog, Elias the Elephant, Farmer Jack etc. We intend to explore the results of the synergy between my art and organist Carsten Thomsen’s Beatles inspired music in the near future. More music composed in "colorful simplicity"? A children’s song book with "colorful simplicity" songs based on my fairy tale characters and with whimsical texts? The recording company REFLEKS considers publishing a DVD with the Beatles on organ and my show on the church tower. For this purpose the Beatles on organ might be directed even more towards "Colorful Simplicity". Response - happy. I'm so happy this event turned out to be a tremendous success. Lots of people saw it. People from Denmark and abroad said: "Great experience", "Wonderful" and much more. "Inspiring", was a general feed back. Letters, e-mail, phone calls tell me it was worth all the trouble. Later in the evening the church disappeared in the dark night and you could see noting but the white screen with my art works in the sky and it seemed like the music made it fly. And Peter O. was excited and he said: "Second to none, not even to Jean Michel Jarre". Jean Michel Jarre is a famous French musician, who performs huge events using electronic music effects and light effects in spectacular places. The minister who had supported the event in many ways was happily jumping up and down in the churchyard aisels smoking lots of cigarettes, mumbling strange words. Our sound technician, who recently worked for Madonna and Rolling Stones was excited, too – he shook my hand and said: "So cool". You had to be present. ![]() ![]() No photo, no CD, no video would ever be able to tell the story about this event. You had to be present. To see the art works in colorful simplicity shown on the church tower in simple shapes and bright colors, 120 motifs one by one every 20 seconds with a little bit of text. To stand there listening to the Beatles music in colorful simplicity played expertly on the organ and presented in sublime sound quality in a specter of 50 to 18000 Hz. To be present in a state of religious silence with this combination of impressions totally overwhelms you. So, the photos above only intend to document that the event took place. To the left "Vejle Inlet Bridge" projected on the church tower and to the right the organ virtuoso in action. What's next - Thoughts? Based on my cooperation with Nordic Rentals, which has powerful projectors (many times stronger than the one I used on the church tower) and huge screens, which can produce sound that makes birds somersault, which in short can support any event with sound and light. Based on my cooperation with organist Carsten Thomsen. Based on that most of my art is digital and can be projected anywhere. The only limit is my imagination....... The only limit is my imagination. Every Thursday, starting tonight from 19 to 22, I'll show the images and play the music from the church tower art event as well as past and future art events in my gallery in "Lille Fejringhus". The art events are shown on a wide screen size 118.1 x 88.6 inches with a 3000 lumen HP projector and managed by a HP computer. The music is presented by a Bang & Olufsen stereo amplifier and 2 large loudspeakers. And? And? And? And? An art event in Aarhus Cathedral showing my art works with Aarhus motifs and more on a huge screen in the square in front of the cathedral, while Carsten Thomsen skillfully plays the Beatles concert on the organ with loudspeakers in the square? An art event in Haderslev Cathedral showing my art works with Haderslev motifs and more on a huge screen in the square in front the cathedral, while organist Carsten Thomsen skillfully plays the Beatles concert on the organ with loudspeakers in the square? An art event in the Christiansborg Palace Church showing my art works and more on a huge screen in the square in front of the church, while organist Carsten Thomsen skillfully plays the Beatles concert on the organ with loudspeakers in the square? And? And? And? World Stars of Peace Flag The World Stars of Peace Flag honours the famous constellation of Orion, the worlds most widely known constellation which shines brightly in the winter skies of the Northern Hemisphere and in the summer skies of the Southern Hemisphere. When Orion rises on the horizon each year many cultures of the world, past and present, heralded this as a time of new beginnings, peace, hope and renewal. Orion reflects peace on the inside during the winter and outer peace during the summer. The names and forms of most modern star constellations are Greek, Mesopotamian and Egyptian in origin. Other Cultures have different names and forms for this constellation. In very early times their shape formed such images as the ‘Three Goddesses’, ‘Three Grandmothers’, ‘Three Sages of peace and enlightenment’, ‘Three Hearth stones’, a Sacred Moth or Butterfly and many more. They have names such as Disir (Divine Grandmothers), Ura anna (Light of Heaven), Kookyangwso Wuuti Hotoomgam (Spider Woman’s stringed beads), Trys Sesutes (Three Sisters), Chen (The Three), Sode Boshi (Kimono Sleeve Stars), Buaile an Bhodaigh (The Enclosure of the Enlightened),Te Kupenga o Te Ao( The Net of the Universe)…. Others saw the constellation as a giant striding across the sky, such as Orion the Hunter, Nimrod the Giant, Sahu the Soul of Osiris, Nirunja in an eternal chase, Caomi the Armed King, Tautoru’s bird snare,…. Our ancient ancestors around the world paid homage to these stars by creating their heavenly positions in stone, earth and drawings, for example the Great Pyramids of Egypt, Mexico and China. The ancient sites of New Grange, Stone Henge, Karnak, Cahokia, the Great Nazca Spider drawing and numerous others, form alignments in some way to these celestial bodies. The stars in this constellation are commonly known astronomically as Beta Orionis (Rigel), Kappa Orionis (Saiph), Zeta Orionis (Alnitak), Epsilon Orionis (Alnilam), Delta Orionis (Mintaka), Alpha Orionis (Betelgeuse), Gamma Orionis (Bellatrix). These stars are represented on this flag. The white symbolises Spirit and the background golden yellow symbolises life. With the spirit of peace in life may the winds blow this message around our Sacred Grandmother Earth. Signing of mini poster "9 Bernhards" was a hit. This was what I spent most of the time doing this 6 September 2008 in Aarhus.

No photo, no CD, no video would ever be able to tell the story about this event.
